TrawsCambria

The "TrawsCambria" is an existing and emerging network of longer distance bus services in Wales.

Services

The network consists of these services:

 X40: Aberystwyth - Lampeter - Aberaeron - Carmarthen - Swansea - Cardiff (operated jointly by First Cymru and Arriva Cymru)

X32: Aberystwyth - Bangor (operated by Arriva Cymru and Express Motors)

X94: Wrexham - Dolgellau - Barmouth (operated by Arriva Cymru and GHA Coaches)

X50: Aberystwyth - Cardigan (operated by Richards Brothers)

704: Brecon - Newtown (operated by Stagecoach in South Wales)

Most vehicles that operate the Traws Cambria services are brand new; low-floor, easy access; have upgraded seats suitable for long journeys, CCTV and will eventually have cycle racks. There are plans for more services to add to the network - any new information will be added to this page.

Connections

The network provides:

• connections at Aberystwyth between the X32 and X40
• connections at Dolgellau between the X32 and X94
• connections at Carmarthen between rail services and the X40
• connections at Machynlleth and Bangor between rail services and the X32  
• connections at Newtown between rail services and the 704
• connections at Brecon between the 704 and service X43 to Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil and Abergavenny

(Please note that these connections are NOT guaranteed)

Fares/ tickets

Whilst X43 is not a TrawsCambria service there are though tickets between service 704 and X43.  704 has day returns and period returns which can also be used on the X43. 

 

Welsh concessionary bus pass holders can travel free on all TrawsCambria services except the X40 between Carmarthen and Cardiff where half normal adult fares are charged - For all other fare information please call our Traveline Cymru call centre on 0871 200 22 33.

Cycle Carriage

Buses operating on services X32 and X94 are equipped with racks which can carry a maximum of two bikes. The facility is available on a first come, first served basis. Bikes can only be loaded or unloaded at certain points - these loading/ unloading points can be found here
